Moving out of Boston - October 7, 2020

Living in a big city this year has been proven to be the worst-case scenario. With the whole coronavirus pandemic going on, living in the city isn’t such a good idea this year. And there are plenty of reasons why this is so. And you have been probably wondering whether a move to a small town in 2020 is the right thing to do. If that is the case then you came to the right place. We decided to write this article about whether moving to a small town is the right thing to do this year. Keep on reading if you want to find out more about this.

Why is living in a big city this year a bad thing?

This year has been really crazy and a lot of things have changed drastically. One of the things that have changed is socializing. To be more precise, it is practically banned. The coronavirus started spreading rapidly which lead to people having to distance themselves from others. This lead to closing down schools and universities and switching to online classes. Plenty of people had to start working from home in many different fields of work. There are no parties, bars, restaurants, festivals, etc. No social gatherings are allowed. Even just taking a simple walk was a huge issue at one point this year. This all definitely made life in the city very hard.

Plenty of things have changed this year.

Nothing is what it used to be what it comes to living in the city. This is why a lot of people started thinking about moving to small towns. But not everyone is sure that this is such a good idea. And there are reasons for you to believe the same. Living in the city and living in a small town has plenty of differences. And adjusting isn’t easy. Well, at least it wasn’t before all this happened. Now, we believe that moving to a small town is easier than ever. And there are plenty of reasons to do this. And we are here to tell you some of them.

Reasons to move to a small town?

1. Living in a small town is much safer now

No matter how old you are, you can get infected by a coronavirus. And this is a deadly virus we are talking about here, not just some seasonal flu. This is a virus that is spread by just being close to other people who have the virus. This is exactly what made this virus spread so quickly. This means that living in the city became very dangerous as there are plenty of people living in the city and having contact with each other.

But that is not the case with small towns. Small towns aren’t as crowded. People are able to easily keep a safe distance from each other. This is why we believe that all elderly people should definitely move to a small town this year no matter where and which one. Elderly people are among the people who get infected by the coronavirus the most and they suffer from serious symptoms.

Elderly.
It’s dangerous for elderly people to live in big cities right now.

2. Cheaper lifestyle

As a lot of people started working from home, many of them started earning less money. Some people have even lost their jobs completely and are unable to earn any money. This is also one of the reasons why living in a big city is a bad idea and why moving to a small town is much better. Small towns are usually much cheaper and you’ll most likely be able to afford to live there more easily. Another reason why elderly people should move away from bigger cities. Especially if they live in one of the priciest cities in the US.

Housing is also more affordable. You will also be able to easily find a house that you like instead of living in an apartment. This means that staying at home is going to be much easier as you will have a back yard. This is not the case for most people when living in the city. A lot of people who live in the city decided to rent a house in a small town and move there with helpers recommended by Preferred Movers. For some, this will be a permanent solution, while others are there just until the situation changes.

Work From home.
Plenty of people have started working from home which made their income smaller.

3. A healthier environment

Small towns definitely have a much healthier environment for them than big cities do. The air is fresher as there’s more greenery. The streets are cleaner as there aren’t as many cars. The people, in general, are more positive when living in a small town. This creates a healthy environment. Both a physically and mentally healthy environment. This is extremely important for people with children. These are not easy times to go through even though we are going through them as a collective. That is why living in a small town is a much better option for this and the upcoming year even if it means having a cross country move.

Where to move to?

As now you can get anywhere you want with ease as well as move there with easy, you can choose to move wherever you want. And we want to give you a couple of suggestions where we think moving to this year is a great idea. All of these towns are perfect for both elderly and you’d people with children as well as students. These small towns have everything you need. Stores, pharmacies, clinics, affordable housing, pars, clear air, and a lot more.

Here are just some of them:

  • Fulshear, Texas
  • Boca Raton, Florida
  • Granville, West Virginia
  • Vineyard, Utah
  • Thompson’s Station, Tennessee
  • Liberty Hill, Texas
  • Fruitland Park, Florida.
